Využití magnetometru k hledání vraku ponorky U-206 Reichenberg
V roce 2021 proběhla v Biskajském zálivu Atlantického oceánu první etapa výzkumu zaměřeného na lokalizaci vraku ponorky U-206 „Reichenberg“. Aby bylo možné hledání na oceánu pomoci magnetometru, byl upraven starší přístroj Geometrics G 816, který byl kompletně digitalizován a doplněn moduly GPS a wi-fi. Výzkum potvrdil možnost vyhledávat vraky lodí na vzdálenost až stovek metrů.
Using a magnetometer to find the wreck of the U-206 „Reichenberg“ submarine
The first phase of research aimed at localising the wreck of the U-206 „Reichenberg“ submarine took place in 2021 in the Bay of Biscay in the Atlantic Ocean. An older Geometrics G 816 device was modified, completely digitalised and fitted with GPS and Wi-Fi modules to search the ocean. The research confirmed it was possible to look for the shipwreck at distances of up to hundreds of metres.
