Príspevok prezentuje výsledky archeologického výskumu v Lehote pri Nitre, ktorý tu v lete roku 2018 realizovali pracovníci Slovenského národného muzea – Archeologického múzea spolu z miestnymi dobrovoľnikmi. Cieľom nášho výskumu bolo overiť, či nález prepálenych tehál na lokalite súvisí so zaniknutou tehelňou, zobrazenou v týchto miestach na mapách II. a III. vojenského mapovania. Podarilo sa nám odkryť základy poľnej tehliarskej pece s tromi kúreniskami. Zásyp objektu bol tvorený zvačša stavebnou keramikou, okrem toho tu bol črepovy materiál kuchynskej keramiky, klince a jedna minca. Objekt sme na základe nálezov a archivnych dokumentov datovali do 18. – 19. storočia.

Results of archaeological excavation of a lost brickw orks in Lehota (Nitra district)

This study presents the results of an archaeological excavation in Lehota, near Nitra, undertaken in 2018 by staff at the Slovak National Museum – Archaeological Museum, alongside local volunteers. The objective of our research was to verify whether the finding of fired bricks at the location was related to a lost brickworks shown at these places in the maps of the Second and Third Military Surveys. We managed to uncover the foundations of a field brick kiln with three firing tunnels. The building was filled mostly with construction ceramics, and there were also fragments of kitchen pottery, nails and a coin. On the basis of the find and archive documents, we dated the building to the 18th – 19th century.
